2015 4th Level Dutch Riding Pony Gelding
Magnum is the pony we have always dreamed of having! I pinch myself taking him into shows (where, for the record, he got 2nd to Olympian Nick Wagman in California in 2023 at 4th level,) because he is Mr. Reliable & always a blast to ride. Magnum is ranked as Top Pony in the country at 3rd & 4th levels for 2023.
Standing 14.1 hh with a permanent Pony Card, Magnum is an expressive & elastic mover, also having won Region 5 Championships at 2nd level in 2021. (Over the big horses, thank you very much!)
Magnum has super (and easy!) flying changes & has competently schooled the five 3-Tempis required for the Prix St Georges. He’s now learning to sit more in the pirouette work & could easily debut PSG in 2024. He has been started in piaffe, & shows special talent for passage.
He loves a good field hack & is mature beyond his years when out in new environments. He weathered the Galway Downs warmup with ~30 horses flying around & never batted an eyelash. He is 100% with the rider at home & away. The second half of 2023, he has been happily teaching his amateur owner the ropes on correct contact & sitting his (relatively!) big-horse gaits.
